We are all curious about what happened, what is happening and what will happen around us and other parts of the world. “What is going on (wigo)” app will give you just that and much more!

Wigo (What is going on) - a worldwide crowd sourced and map based application to share news, events and activities, and galleries of pictures. News, events and activities are displayed as colored pins on the map showing you the exact locations. News is denoted as Red whereas events and activities are denoted as Purple and Green respectively throughout the Wigo app.

Next time when you see something such as bad weather, fire, power outage, accident, protest, rally etc, why waiting for the news stations to report it, post the news yourself in Wigo. Wigo will alert nearby users immediately with pinpoint location on the map. They would chime in with updates, photos and comments as well.

Event is a planned public and social occasion for a specific time period. User who represents an entity holding the event submits an event and pinpoints the location on the map in Wigo. Wigo lets users post the pictures during or after the events and participate the discussions about the events. Feel free to post your own public events.

Hashtags can be used to aggregate the related events and news that cover multiple locations or even globally. Wigo will display each of them on the map and present a rich gallery of pictures taken from all the related news and events.

News and events are public. Activities are private by default. But they can be shared with other users. A journey is a sequence of activities. It is displayed as a connected polyline. If the journey is shared with friends, they will be notified of any new activities along the journey immediately.

Activity doesnt have to be part of journey. It can be just an isolated private event.

All the news, events and activities users submit are saved in the database. Users can always revisit them anytime in the future.

Wigo allows the users to flag the news or events as offensive or faked. If more than 5 users flag the same item, it will be marked as invalid and will not be available to any users.

A user can be optionally blocked in Wigo. If the user is on your block list, neither news nor events from this user will be presented to you in either mobile apps or wigonow.com web site.
